Our club has gone from strength to strength. We have lots of new members working through their speeches and the result of their hard work is evident in the quality of the speeches presented to us at every meeting. Remember that Toastmasters is a bit like a gym membership, YOU have to make it work for you. Get stuck in and you will see the results. Your colleagues at work will see the difference in you, in your confidence and your delivery.
This does not all happen by chance. The club will not be what it is without the effort and commitment of a few key people. As I reflect on the year gone by, I have to publicly thank two of our members who have generously given so much to our club in the past year. I'd like to publicly thank Linda White and Harminder Dhillon for their help, support and guidance over the past year.
I'd like to also thank my team, YOUR committee who volunteer their time for the benefit of us all. Robert Morrison our VP Education, Uta Proud our Treasurer, Lorriane Cuffe our Club Secretary, Simon Vadgama our VP Public Relations, Harmeek Saandal our VP Membership and of course Roman Snovak our Sergeant at Arms. These are the people working behind the scenes to make the magic happen.
Last but not least I'd like to thank our Immediate Past President, Tom Small. Without his hard work and dedication over the years, the club would not be where it is today. We miss his infectious enthusiasm and hope he can be back with us soon.
At our first meeting of 2016, Robert Morrison our VP Education will be running a mini-workshop to help us set our personal goals for the year. What do YOU want to achieve through Toastmasters in 2016? You might want to complete your Competent Communicator Manual or a set number of speeches. Setting yourself an achievable goal will help focus your energy and make it more likely you are successful.
